PRE-Treatment Instructions
SUNBURN ALERT: This procedure utilizes ingredients which may increase the skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Recommend using a sunscreen of at least SPF 20 and limiting sun exposure while using chemical peels and for at least one week afterwards. The skin may look and feel like a mild windburn for the next 2 or 3 days prior to peeling. After 48 hours a slight flaking may occur, which can easily be controlled with moisturizers. Avoid heavy makeup application because many ingredients in foundations are greasy, fragranced and can be irritating. We suggest using mineral make up with natural sunscreens such as Titanium Dioxide or Zinc Oxide. Let the skin shed on its own rate to avoid scarring or rashes, avoid pulling or peeling shedding skin. After one week the skin should look clearer and smoother and the use of normal skin care products can resume. Possible side effects: Possible side effects may include mild redness, drying and/or flaking of the skin, itching, swelling, burning, blistering, skin discoloration, and possible crusting of the skin. If swelling, burning, blistering, skin discoloration, or crusting occurs, contact our facility for assistance. Patient who should avoid Chemical Peel:
